Obituary

Sean J. Anderson, 61, of Medway, died Friday, July 28, 2023, in Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston. He was the husband of Caroline (Reardon) Anderson for the past 38 years.

Born in Tarrytown, New York, September 28, 1961, the son of Annie M. (McCormack) Anderson of Medway and the late John J. Anderson. Sean lived in both New York and Chicago before coming to Medway 51 years ago.

Sean was a 1979 graduate of Medway High School and a 1983 graduate of Bentley College.

Graduating from college with an accounting degree, he quickly developed an interest and skill set in computers and financial management software. In 1990, he created Micro Financial Computer Systems in Medway and ran the company up until he passed.

Sean was an active member of St Joseph’s Parish. He served as an adult CYO Youth Group leader, helping organize and chaperone events for many years.

Sean was a sports enthusiast. He was an accomplished skier, snow boarder, wind surfer, and golfer. He had a passion for running which was infectious. Helping many with running form and style, road races became family activities. The Falmouth Road Race was one of his favorites. In addition to being a participant, Sean was an excellent coach. He taught many family members and friends to ski, snowboard, wind surf, golf, and play soccer.

More than participating or coaching, Sean loved to watch his girls play field hockey, run track and perform on dance teams. His special combination of encouragement, discipline and sideline coaching were factors in all four of his daughters participating in sports at the college level. Above all else, Sean enjoyed being with his family.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his children, Elizabeth Coble and her husband Trevor of Acushnet, Jackelyn Anderson of West Hartford, Connecticut, Emily Grasmuck and her husband Krys of Hopedale, and Ciara Anderson of Medway.

He is also survived by his siblings, Kevin Anderson and his wife Debbie of Medway and Nuala Wenzel and her husband Jeff of Medway. He is also survived by many Reardon and Anderson nieces and nephews whom he loved and adored. Sean is survived by his grandchildren, Landon and Finn Coble and Myles Grasmuck.
