Obituary

Bertha M. (Keith) Thompson, 91, died at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home on Sunday, June 18. She was the wife of the late George L. Thompson. Born in Holbrook, she was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1933. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 65 years. Mrs. Thompson was the manager of the Goddard Memorial Hospital Coffee Shop in Stoughton for 27 years before retiring in 1989. She was a volunteer with the Sisters of St. Joseph’s in Brockton for many years. Mrs. Thompson was a caregiver for many families in the Stoughton area for many years. She was an avid baker and loved to cook. She was also an avid Bingo player.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her children, George L. Thompson, Jr. of Pembroke, Roberta J. Thompson O’Connor of Lakeville and Cheryl A. Carlevale of W. Bridgewater. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia A. Haron and her brother, Morton Keith. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, June 22 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton. Donations in Bertha‘s name may be made to Hospice of Community Visiting Nurse Agency, 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
