Obituary

HANLON, Thomas Michael of Brighton, passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 23, the date of his mother’s birth. He was the beloved son of James and Eleanor (Whelton) Hanlon. Tommy was the longtime soulmate of Anna Mak sharing an everlasting love. Tommy was the adored and beloved brother of the late Katie (Hanlon) Brennan and the late Ellie Hanlon, Karen Breese of Naperville, IL, Christine Sampson of Stoughton, Lainey Hanlon of Canton, James Hanlon of Dorchester, Patricia Hanlon and her husband Gerard Crimlisk of Chestnut Hill, Mary Hanlon of Westwood, Francis Hanlon and his wife Mary Ellen of West Roxbury.

Tommy was a connoisseur of music and steeped in Irish wit. He lived it and loved it. He was a 1977 graduate of Newton South High School and studied at UMASS Boston. Tommy served honorably in the US Army. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was especially fond of Danny, Conor and Lily Hanlon. He leaves many colleagues and friends at the Boston Water and Sewer Commission and many adoring friends in his community at the Residences at Brighton Marine. Tommy was a huge hockey fan adorning his walls with the shirts of the game’s greats from Gretzky on. Tommy’s impeccable taste in music, his keen Irish wit, and his great loving spirit will be sorely missed.
