Kevin Patrick (Dippa) Doolan of Franklin passed away July 21, 2023.
Born April 13, 1960, in Brookline, Kevin spent most of his young life in Canton before moving to Franklin. He was the beloved son of the late Lorraine D. Doolan (Cousineau) and Thomas C. Doolan of Scituate.
He was the proud Papa and best buddy of his grandson Michael E. Baker of Attleboro. He also leaves his stepdaughters Katie Baker of Attleboro, Molly Baker of Watertown, and his wife of many years MaryAnne Baker of Attleboro.
He is also survived by his brothers Father Patrick of California, Michael and his wife Lynne of Foxboro, Bill and Connie of Norton, and Laurie the wife of his late brother Jack of Kingston. He has one surviving sister Carey Thompson and her husband Cliff of Scituate. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Kevin was a truck driver by profession and was also a bartender in several well-known bars in Franklin. He was an avid sport fan. He loved the Boston teams, but he especially loved the Boston Bruins. He knew every statistic and every player. Kevin was also a fan of golf, starting when he was a kid playing at Wampatuck Golf Course. He continued to play well into his adult life. He loved all sports and in his later years Kevin enjoyed fishing with his grandson Michael and was extremely excited when Michael caught his first fish.
His greatest gift was his sense of humor. You knew you were his friend if he called you “onion ring”, “onion”, or if you were a really good friend, he might just call you “ring”. He could tell a story better than most and could make it funnier and bigger every time he told it. Many summer parties were spent listening to those stories (sometimes the same ones) sharing the limelight with his best friend of thirty years, the late Bobby (Big) Molloy. He is survived by many friends in both Franklin and Canton and will be missed by all.
The family would like all those friends to know that a Celebration Of Life will be held at a later date where we can raise a glass and celebrate Dippa.
The Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. is honored to assist the Doolan family.
