KRAWCZYK, Walter S. Of Framingham, formerly of Newton Upper Falls, age 86, passed peacefully in his sleep Friday July 21, 2023. He is the eldest of five children of Walter T. and Estelle Krawczyk of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Walter spent his formative years in MN. He graduated from Saint Mary’s University and the University of Minnesota receiving his degree in dentistry. During the Vietnam War he was a captain in the U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Once discharged, he went on to earn two post-doctoral degrees at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and continued on there as Assistant Clinical Professor while also running a successful periodontal practice in Weston. He was a member of both state and national dental and periodontal organizations along with being an active member of his parish and the Granliden Community Association in Sunapee, NH.
Outside of work, Walter had many interests and cherished time with his family. Many weekends were spent exploring New England taking photographs or in Sunapee, NH where he loved to ski, golf and spend time with friends from Granliden. Along with photography, he was an avid traveler, wine connoisseur and chef. He always had a camera in his hands looking for new perspectives and his home was usually filled with the delicious aroma of his cooking. He built his own darkroom and then easily transitioned to digital photography. He exhibited at Dartmouth Hitchcock and Mass General Hospitals as well as libraries and galleries in both MA & NH. Walter had quite a sense of humor and enjoyed regaling his family with stories and jokes as they enjoyed his company and his cooking. He will be greatly missed.
