Gary Lee Clark, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his devoted wife, Belinda, nearby. Gary was born October 11, 1947, the youngest son of Jim and Vera Clark. He grew up in Chesterfield, Indiana and attended Highland High School.
On April 15, 1989, he married his soulmate and best friend Belinda Ann Franklin Walters. They were married 34 years and lived in their wooded paradise in Madison, Indiana where they enjoyed the deer, turkeys, and wildlife.
Gary played football for the Anderson Packers, spent several years competing in weightlifting competitions, and BMX at state and national levels. He served in the Indiana National Guard, was a member of the American Legion, a Freemason at Lodge #122 and prior #652.
He retired from Delco Remy in Anderson, Indiana. He was an avid member of U.A.W. 662 and served as a Committeeman.
He loved the outdoors, hunting, trapping, fishing, and riding his Harley. He hosted a men only yearly golf tournament and enjoyed drinking a beer or two with his buddies. He and Belinda welcomed their friends to many of their many gatherings and barn parties. He taught and mentored numerous kids to hunt.
They enjoyed spending the winters fishing, boating, and spending time with their wonderful friends on Lake Okeechobee, Florida. They were diehard NASCAR fans for over 30 years attending numerous races.
“Clarkie” had an infectious laugh and smile; he was a loyal friend to many; his love for his family and friends was clear in all he did. He loved and was so proud of his “favorite daughter” and “his boy.”
Gary is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Vera Clark, his older brother and sister-in-law Jim and Phyllis Clark, and his son Gary Scott Clark.
