Obituary

Worcester--Helen T. (Buckley) Toll, 99, died Friday, June 16, 2006, in the St. Francis Home. She would have celebrated her 100th birthday on June 22nd. Her husband, George P. Toll died in 1973. She leaves a daughter, Mary Ann Toll of Worcester; a son, Dr. Charles H. Toll and his wife Carol, and a grandson, Nathaniel Toll all of Olney, MD; and 2 nieces, Maureen Walsh and Nancy Lewos.

Helen was born in Dudley, daughter of Patrick F. and Bridgit (Casey) Buckley. She graduated from Classical High School in 1924, Worcester Normal School in 1926, and Clark University in 1939. She was a teacher and an Assistant Principal at the former Middlesex Avenue School in Worcester until 1946. She then taught in New York City until 1963. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and the National Retired Teachers Association. She was a volunteer at the American Lung Association, Worcester Public Schools, and the RSVP Program.

Funeral services for Helen will be held on Wednesday, June 21 from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., with a Mass at 11:00 at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tues. June 20th from 5-7PM at the funeral home.
