Arthur P. Costa

TEWKSBURY: Arthur P. Costa, age 75, a resident of Tewksbury for 33 years, formerly of Malden, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.
He was the beloved husband of Ellen M. (Raye) Costa, with whom he would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on August 14, 2023.
Born in Everett on April 17, 1948, he was the son of the late Arthur P. Costa and the late Susan (DeMarco) Costa.
Arthur was raised in Revere and graduated from Revere High School in 1966. He later attended business college in Boston where he received his associate degree.
In 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Seoul, Korea during the Vietnam War. He was awarded several decorations for his active-duty service including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the M-14 Rifle Expert Badge and the M-16 Rifle Expert Badge.
Arthur began his long career in banking in 1973 and was currently serving as Assistant Vice President for the Easter Bank Company.
He was a member and officer of several area organizations and committees including the Tewksbury Economic Committee, where he served as Vice Chairman, he was a board member and treasurer of the Tewksbury Council on Aging, the Vice President of the Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce, President of the Tewksbury Rotary Club and a member of the Tewksbury Rod & Gun Club and Knights of Columbus.
In his spare time, he enjoyed target shooting, bowling, and scuba diving and was a master diver.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Lisa M. Solemina and her husband David, of Tewksbury and Paul M. Costa and his significant other Maria Mastrangelo, of Dracut: four grandchildren, Abigail, Alex and Aiden Solemina, and Dominic Mastrangelo: one sister, Carole Croteau and her husband Ronald, of Bluffton, SC. He was the uncle of Stephen Croteau, the late Keith Croteau and Pamela Croteau and her daughter Ashtyn.
Calling hours are Thursday, July 27th, from 5-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, immediately followed by military honors to be rendered at the funeral home.
