CHICOPEE – Constance R. “Connie” (Fredette) DuBois, 88, a longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, July 20, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at Bear Mountain in West Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on May 25, 1935, the beloved daughter of the late Leon and Sylvia (Nolan) Fredette. She was raised in Chicopee, attended Holyoke Catholic High School and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was employed as a hairdresser for many local beauty salons including Roger's Styling Barn in Fairview. She was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Saint Anne Sodality Guild. Connie was an incredibly talented seamstress and artist and enjoyed watching softball, playing cards, activities and traveling. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Robert G. DuBois who was Called Home on January 4, 2002. They were married at Saint Anne Church in Chicopee on May 9, 1953 and were blessed with over 48 years of happiness together. She leaves her ten loving children, Glen DuBois of Oregon, Craig DuBois and his wife, Susan, of Torrington, CT and Wildwood, FL, Donna DuBois of Heath, OH, Brant DuBois and his wife, Laurie, of Chicopee, Darin DuBois and his wife, Sherri, of Ludlow, Holly Dombrowsky and her husband, Daniel, of Laconia, NH, Wade DuBois and his wife, Christine, of Granby, Riché Colcombe and her husband, Marc, of Hillsborough, NH, Kirsten Barnes of Holyoke and Tempyl Gagnon and her husband, Fred, of Chicopee; her 25 cherished grandchildren, her 19 cherished great grandchildren; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her loving daughter, Diane DeMatteo; and her two dear sisters, Lucille Fredette and Leona Beauchemin. Her Funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the Mass.
