BILLERICA, MA ---- Frederick "Fred" S. McLeod, 90, of Nashua Road, formerly of Wakefield, MA and Nashua, NH passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 with his family by his side.
Fred was born on October 24, 1932, in Lynn, MA, son of Arthur and Lila (Stiles) McLeod. He was born into a large family in Lynn, MA, the youngest of ten children. The family is grateful to the High Pointe House in Haverhill, MA for the attentive care he received in his final days.
Fred was a lifelong electrician and was a member of the IBEW local 103 Electrical Union in Boston. He enjoyed projects around the house, yardwork and getting together with family and friends. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren as he watched them grow to be successful adults. Fred loved spending his summers at his home in Meredith, NH in the Winnipesaukee Beach Colony Club. He was an active member of the association and was the maintenance chair for many years. He was often seen helping neighbors with small projects, riding around in his golf cart and sitting on the hill by the lake with his dear friends. He was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams.
Frederick is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Barbara (Larson) McLeod, daughter Debra Rillahan of Methuen, MA, son Stephen McLeod and his wife Carolyn of Chelmsford, MA. He is predeceased by his parents as well as seven sisters and two brothers. He also leaves behind six grandchildren. Chris Rillahan (Heather), Casey Rillahan (Anna), Cory Rillahan (Alexis), Kyle Rillahan (Grace), Kristin McLeod McInerney (Alex) & Stephen L. McLeod (fiancé Julia Cushing). Five great grandchildren survived him, Sebastian, Lily, Oliver, Henry & Emilia along with many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be celebrated on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 10:30am, at the New Hampton Community Church, 14 Church Lane, New Hampton, NH 03256.
A Graveside service will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Meredith Center Road, Meredith, NH.
