Filomena (Auciello) Rossi, age 89, of Malden passed away on Wednesday, July 19th, at Leonard Florence Center for Living in Chelsea. Born and raised in Anzano Di Puglia, Foggia, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Anna Antonia (Puopolo) Auciello. Filomena came to the U.S. in 1950, settling first in Boston’s North End before moving to Somerville in 1960, and to Malden in 1972. Filomena was employed for many years as a seamstress. She was devoted to her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Filomena loved to dance, and she was an excellent cook.
Filomena was the beloved wife of the late Emilio Rossi, and the devoted mother of Rocco Rossi and his wife Cathy of Crossville, TN, Rose Carbone of Revere and her late husband John, Anna Copa of Melrose, and Gracy Auciello and her husband Mario of Wilmington. She was the loving grandmother of Angela, John, Danielle, Leanna, Peter, Louis and Michael, and the loving great grandmother of Arianna, Mila, Avery, Dante, Gabriella, Alexandra, Johnny, Ava, Anthony, Austin and Lorenzo. Filomena was the dear sister of Antonio Auciello and his wife Antonia, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, July 24th at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family on Sunday, July 23rd, from 3 through 7 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
