Countess Vita Hadik-Strachwitz, formerly of Chester, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2023 at the age of 92 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 22, 1931 in Berlin, Germany the only child of the former Baroness Edith (Lyncker) and Count Ludwig Adam Strachwitz von Gross-Zauche und Camminetz.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Count Laszlo Hadik who died on July 31, 1973. They were married at St. Michaels church in Munich, Germany on June 11, 1956.
Vita is survived by her four children, Andrew & Rebecca (Eastman) Hadik, Alexandra Hadik, Christopher & Carrie (Danskin) Hadik and Cornelia & Jeffrey Prevost, all of Chester, NH, as well her seven beloved grandchildren Bela, Nicholas, Alexander, Oliver, Madeleine, James & Alice and her great-granddaughter Lilly.
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 29, 2023, at 11:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Derry. The burial will be at a later date in the Great Hill Cemetery, Chester followed by a celebration of life.
