Matthew David Barnes, 44, of Anderson passed away at his home on July 15, 2023 after a fight with cancer.
He was born on August 25, 1978 in Anderson to Dennis and Vicky (Boram) Barnes. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and working with his hands, but mostly he enjoyed time with his children.
Matthew and his wife, Melinda, were members of Catalyst Church in Pendleton. Rest in peace my sweet warrior. I will meet you at God’s pearly gates.
He left behind his wife, Melinda (Moore) Barnes whom he married on May 25, 2019 in Anderson; his three daughters, Sydney, Breanna, and Alyssa Barnes; his three sons, Drake, Gabereal “Gabe”, and Chance Barnes; his stepson, TJ Scott; his mother, Vicky Barnes; his two sisters, Jessica and Julie Barnes; two nieces; two sisters-in-law, Marcia (Fred) Shock and Michelle Stone; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Mechelle) Moore; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Barnes in May of 2023.
There will be no services or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to his wife, Melinda,
to help with the funeral expenses.
