Gloria C. (Giolito) Giggi, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away on Friday, July 14th. She was 96. Born and raised in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Orsola (Annino) Giolito.
A natural people person, Gloria was loved by everyone. She was everyone’s friend. Her caring personality, kind disposition and a heart full of love made her one of a kind. Gloria loved spending time with her family and looked forward to their yearly trip to Newfound Lake in New Hampshire. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Michael to the Caribbean and Florida where they would spend the whole day soaking up the sun, sitting in their beach chair and feeling the sand between their toes.
Gloria loved going dancing, enjoying the company of her dear friends in her home, cooking delicious meals and sharing her recipes with everyone, reading a good book and showing affection to any little furry creature that crossed her path.
Gloria’s youngest daughter Karen passed away after fighting a long hard battle with cancer. Gloria made sure that she would keep her memory alive for all the years to come. She loved spending time with her husband, and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Michael A. Giggi. She was the devoted mother of Paul Giggi and his wife Deborah, of GA, Diane Brandon and her husband George, of NH, and the late Karen Giggi. She was the loving Gee of Michael G. Brandon and his wife Chanel, of CA, and Karen Moore and her husband Dustin, of NH. She was the Great-Gee of Mariah and Michael Brandon, and Marley and Jack Moore. She was the dear sister of the late Aldo and Mary Giolito, and the special friend of Phyllis McGee, Vivian Su and David Wilson. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Gloria’s family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, July 20th from 9 to 11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gloria’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
