Armand D. Langlois, 80, passed away after a lengthy illness on July 11, 2023, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Pineau) Langlois, and together they shared many cherished memories.
Armand was born on January 6, 1943, in Lowell, Massachusetts, to the late Donat Langlois and the late Jeannette (Martel) Langlois. He spent his formative years in Lowell, where he received his education, graduating from St. Joseph's High School. Following his graduation, Armand joined the United States Army Reserves, proudly serving his country.
Armand embarked on a successful career as a mechanic, spanning over 60 years. He began his journey working with his brother Bob alongside their uncle, George Burcato, at Burcato Bro's in Lowell. Later he and his brother operated the Tewksbury Center Mobil, founding their own shop, A&B Arco not long after. As their venture flourished, they opened a second location, A&B Auto, both situated on Main Street. Armand was a dedicated mechanic who took pride in his work. His commitment to his craft and community allowed him to forge countless friendships, often going above and beyond to help those in need. His dedication was such that he once left the middle of a Christmas dinner to assist a stranded customer.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Armand found solace in various hobbies. He had a green thumb and delighted in gardening and tending to his backyard. He enjoyed spending time with his grand kids, as well as traveling, frequently visiting his friends in Naples, Florida, as well as embarking on trips to Maine for fishing and snowmobiling adventures. Armand's benevolent spirit extended to his involvement as a longstanding member of the Lions Club, where he actively contributed to the betterment of his community. In addition he loved watching old films, and playing solitaire on his computer.
Armand will be deeply missed by his children: Monica Bond and her husband Tom of Nashua, Armand "Butch" Langlois Jr. of Pelham, Shelly Golan and her husband Curt of Lawrence, and Nicole Cicchetto and her husband Joseph of Windham. He also leaves behind eleven adoring grandchildren: TJ and Kasey Bond, Zack and Cameryn Langlois, Tyler, Morgan, and Aaron Golan, and Nathan, Bella, Olivia, and Joshua Cicchetto. In addition to his immediate family, Armand is survived by his brother Robert and his wife Lorraine Langlois of Tewksbury, his former wife Margaret (Flynn) Langlois of Windham, and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He also leaves behind his beloved companion, his dog, Annie, who brought him comfort and joy throughout his life.
On Monday, July 17, 2023, all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 4-7 p.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury 978-851-2061.
His funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main Street, Tewksbury. A procession will follow for burial at Tewksbury Cemetery.
