Charles J. Moniz
November 12, 1951—July 7, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles J. “Chucky” Moniz, 71, peacefully at Charlton Memorial Hospital on July 7, 2023. Chucky was a lifelong resident of Fall River. To know Chucky was to love him. He truly was one of a kind, and an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend to so many throughout his life. He will be remembered most for his incredible spirit, giving nature, as well as his unwavering loyalty and support for those he loved.
Chucky accomplished much in his lifetime with an incredible work ethic and courageous spirit. He was a proud Navy veteran. Chucky also took great pride in his work at Duro Textiles for over 20 years, as well as his work at the Bristol County Sherriff’s Department until retiring this past spring.
In addition to his years of work, Chucky spent many hours volunteering his time coaching and as a referee for countless youth leagues throughout the city. Chucky was also nationally recognized for being inducted into the Pigeon Racing Hall of Fame.
Chucky was the son of the late Charles and Maria Delores (Miranda) Moniz, brother to Joseph Moniz and the late Matthew Moniz, and a devoted uncle to many nephews and nieces. Although Chucky is not survived by any children, his life and legacy will live on in the hearts of the countless lives he touched throughout all of his years. We will all miss Chucky’s countless stories of his life’s adventures that always brought joy to those that loved him.
