Obituary

“USRichard P. "Richie" Dwyer, a resident of Charlestown and formerly of Amesbury, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Saturday, July 8, 2023. He was 76 years of age.

Richie was born in Amesbury on March 11, 1947, a son of the late Robert Dwyer and Lorina (Borque) Dwyer. He grew up in Amesbury where he was educated in the Amesbury Public School system and graduated from Amesbury High School. While Richie attended Amesbury High School, he excelled in academics and in all sports and held the title of Captain for the varsity baseball, basketball and football teams in his senior year. Richie enlisted into the United States Marine Corps on December 27, 1966 and served his country bravely and with pride during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on October 8, 1969 with the rank of Corporal. Richie worked as a laborer most of his adult life and was a member of the Laborers Union Local # 223 for over 30 years.

Richie is the beloved husband of 32 years to Martha E. (Britton) Dwyer. He is the devoted stepfather of Marty Kane. He is the loving Papa to Madison Kane and Siobhan Kane. He is the beloved brother of Connie Platschorre, Billy Dwyer, David Dwyer and the late Robert Dwyer. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richie's visiting hours on Monday morning, July 17, 2023 from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will take place on Monday at 12:45 P.M. at The Veteran's Administration National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne. (PLEASE ARRIVE AT CEMETERY NO LATER THAN 12:30 P.M.)
