On April 5th, 2023, Lois Marie McClave lost her three year battle with cancer at the age of 67. Diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in 2020, she fought hard for three years to gain more precious time with her family.
A loving mother, Lois took time away from her career in nursing to raise her three children. She loved to explore and travel throughout her life. Married to an Army officer, she was fortunate to live in Europe on multiple occasions. Despite moving frequently Lois always devoted herself to her community, often volunteering and being active in her church. As a nurse she was drawn to populations with special needs. She proudly finished her career working for Healthcare for the Homeless in 2022. Lois always found time to help people but harbored a special affinity for dogs. She rescued and cared for many dogs throughout her life and helped find good homes for dozens of others.
Lois is survived by her sons, Scott and Andrew McClave and her daughter Robin McClave. She is also survived by her older brother Matthew Kulmacz and her dog Lily.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday July 15th at 10am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI. Inurnment will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, RI.
