TEWKSBURY - Edith P. (Farnsworth) Richard, age 91, a former civilian employee for the Air
Force, died Saturday, June 17, at her Tewksbury home, after a long period of declining health.
She was the wife of Leo E. Richard, who died in 1968.
She was born in Chelsea, on September 7, 1914, a daughter of the late Ralph C. and Mary C.
(Farrell) Farnsworth. She was raised in Everett, and attended Everett schools. She had resided in
Tewksbury since 1959.
Prior to retirement, she was employed as a civilian Payroll Chief, for the Department of the Air
Force, at Hanscomb A.F.B. in Bedford.
She was a member of the Tewksbury Congregational Church, and in her younger years, was
active in the Rebekah Lodge in Everett, comprised of the daughters of the Odd Fellows Lodge
members.
She is survived by two nieces, Patricia Green of Foxboro, and Denice Murtha of Haverhill, a
nephew, Pater M. Green of Herndon, VA; and several grand nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Alice Green and Winifred Farnsworth.

Her funeral was held Thursday, June 22, in the funeral home. Burial followed at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Globe Santa Fund Trust, c/o Citizens Bank, P.O. Box
