John F. Rockett, 72, of Pembroke, formerly Whitman, passed away peacefully Saturday July 8, 2023.
John was born March 1, 1951 and is the son to the late Fredrick and Patricia (Fay) Rockett. John grew up in Rockland, and was the eldest of six siblings.
In 1970 John graduated from the first graduating class of South Shore Vo-Tech. He then worked as an apprentice until he earned his journeyman’s license followed by his master electrician’s license. He went on to work for a large construction company before opening his own business. He the then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and joined Amtrak where he retired after 27 years as an electrical supervisor in the engineering department.
John was very handy; he could always be found in his free time tinkering and fixing odds and ends, he also enjoyed wood working.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Pauline whom he shared 42 1/2 years happily married, his son John and his wife Jacqui of Pembroke, his daughter Christine and her husband Chris of Whitman, as well as his siblings, Gerald Rockett of Pembroke, David Rockett of Middleboro, Fredrick Rockett of Kingston, Rosemary Richards of Rockland, and Patrick Rockett of Pembroke. He was the loving grandfather to Jack and Brooklyn.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday July 27, at 10:00 AM, at the Our Lady of the Angels Church, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover. All other services are omitted.
