Lorraine L. (Campanini) Kuplast, age 88, of Brockton died on Friday July 7, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late John R. Kuplast, Sr. (ret. BFD). Lorraine was the daughter of the late Erminio and Angelina (Merli) Campanini and was proud to have lived in Brockton’s Ward 2 for her entire life.
After graduation from St. Patrick High School, Lorraine attended Catherine Laboure School of Nursing and later earned a Master’s Degree from Emanuel College. For several years, Lorraine worked with the Brockton Visiting Nurses Association and for over forty years as a school nurse and then as the Nursing Supervisor with the Brockton Public Schools.
Lorraine was very active in the community. She taught CCD at St. Patrick’s Church and was a member of the Ladies Sodality. In addition to knitting Afghans for her family, she ran at Fields Park with her daughter Cathy. She also enjoyed time at the family cottage in Dennisport, camping in Maine and watching the Red Sox while eating banana popsicles with her grandchildren.
Lorraine was very friendly and passionate, and she was feisty about her beliefs. She was always helping others and she was proud of her Italian heritage and her Catholic faith. Lorraine always appreciated the Brockton Fire Department sounding their horns as they drove past her home; it always made her day and brought comfort for the past 25 years. Lorraine’s family is also appreciative of the care and comfort from the members of Brewster Ambulance.
