Alfred J. Wilkins, 82, of Nashua, NH, died Saturday, July 8, 2023, in Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood, NH. He was born on September 28, 1940 in Peabody, MA, a son of Alfred and Ida (Sirois) Wilkins.
Alfred was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Judith Wilkins and is survived by his two sons, David Wilkins of Bristol, NH, Brian Wilkins of Sandown, NH; six grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Frenzo of Naples, Maine.
Alfred claimed all his life to be an avid fisherman but was mainly a "baiter of hooks" for his ex-wife. He was equally at peace sitting outside on a warm, sunny day as he was inside with his face between the pages of a good book. He struggled with mental illness throughout his life, but held to an immutable moral code and compass - never lying, never cheating, and bringing cheer and goodwill to strangers on a daily basis.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 11th from 4:00pm to 5:30pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St, Derry, NH. A funeral service will follow at 5:30pm in the funeral home. The burial will take place at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to International Bipolar Foundation: https://ibpf.org/get-involved/donate/
