Mark M. Hanscom, a resident of Newburyport and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He was 36 years of age.
Mark was born in Boston on October 20, 1986, a son of Diane M. Wrenn and Alton R. "Al" Hanscom. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Catherine's Parochial School and graduated from Matignon High School in 2005 where he excelled in hockey during his high school years and was a member of the Matignon High School State Championship Team in 2004. Mark had been working as a Laborer for several warehouse companies as a forklift operator and in their shipping and receiving departments. While growing up in Charlestown as a young boy, Mark had the gift of becoming a very successful hockey player throughout his life and mentored many other young boys in Charlestown to join the Charlestown Youth Hockey Program. In his spare time, Mark enjoyed rollerblading and visiting casinos.
In recent years, Mark became involved in The Reverence Church in Fall River where he took great pride and became very spiritual in himself for volunteering thru the church to help people in need in that area.
Mark is the loving son of Diane M. Wrenn and Al Hanscom and his wife Janet. He is the beloved father of Mark Hanscom. He is the devoted brother of A.J. Hanscom and Shayla Hanscom. He is the loving uncle to Aiden, Sean, Alayius and Asyius. He is also survived by his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mark's Funeral on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 10:45 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 12 Noon. His burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 3 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
