Eduvigis de Leon Hernandez was affectionately known as “Bolo” all his life. He departed this life to go to glory with our Lord God and Savior on July 6th, 2023. The second eldest child of Gabriela Hernandez and Francisco de Leon, he was born on October 17, 1956 in Maunabo, Puerto Rico. Having moved to Boston at the age of 16 he met his wife, Evelyn, where they settled and raised their family. In addition to having helped raise his younger siblings who looked upon him as a FATHER figure. Bolo in retirement then moved to Kissimmee, FL. having started his own towing company. He adored nature, fishing, and animals reminiscent of his growing years in Puerto Rico. Bolo’s first passion had always been cars and worked as a mechanic most of his life. Throughout his life he was the owner of several antique cars including a 1967 GTO and 1973 Pontiac Firebird to name a couple which he enjoyed restoring & showcasing with his brothers and friends around New England. Words often spoken of Bolo were kind hearted, always giving and carefree as he enjoyed life and loved his family deeply. Family cookouts and holidays were always held at his home, known for his famous pig roasts as was always expected according to his family’s tradition. FAMILY meant the world to him. Bolo is preceded in death by his parents, sister Carmen, niece Evelyn Vasquez, nephew Juan “Johnnie” Mejia. He leaves to cherish his memories and look forward to sharing God’s Heaven: his beloved ex-wife of 40 years, Evelyn Teresa de Leon (Gomez) of Chicago, IL, loving father to two sets of twins Janice de Leon “Quepito” (Darrell Smith) and Janet de Leon “Sunshine” both of FL, Evelyn Gabriela “Gaby” de Leon (Francisco “Jerry” Skelton) and Francisco “Frankie” de Leon (Ashley Brady) both of Boston, MA and Rick aka Gordo of Boston, MA, his 9 adored grandchildren, Isaac, Gabriel, Samuel, Kenneth, Avah,, Johnsy, Json, Sofia, and Joshua.
