Loving son of the late Artem and Siranush (Hachaturova) Artyunov. Brother of the late Zara Artyunova. Uncle of Derek Voskanyan. Also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
Funeral service at Saint James Armenian Church, 465 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Monday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Visitation period will be held at church on Monday morning from 10 – 11 a.m., immediately prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Saint James Armenian Church. Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
Grigoriy was born on May 27th 1953 in Baku Azerbaijan to Siranush and Artem Artyunov, and the younger brother of the late Zara Artyunova. As a child Grigoriy was not only loving but also compassionate, he was very social and personable. Most of all he loved his family dearly. A loving father, grandfather, uncle and a dedicated husband and friend. Grigoriy is survived by his wife, son, newphew and granddaughter. Grigoriy was very close with his nephew Derek Voskanyan whom he loved like a son and mentored throughout his life. Grigoriy was also a proud grandfather and loved his granddaughter very much, she helped him through some of the toughest hours in his life.
Grigoriy was a great engineer that supported his employees by providing help at any hour of the day. He enjoyed playing and watching sports including basketball, soccer and tennis. In addition to sports, he had a deep appreciation for technology, reading, cooking and all things engineering. Grigoriy was always happy to help those around him at any hour of the day. He was a person whom many relied on during the most difficult periods in life, as he was a source of truth and support. A person like Grigoriy comes around once in a lifetime and his love, support, advice, and jokes will be missed by many. Most of all he will be missed as a Husband, a Father, an Uncle, a grandfather and as a friend.
