The true measure of a man is what he leaves behind when he no longer has a life to call his own.
Tony G. Zentz, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home on July 1, 2023 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Tony was born on July 17, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Tony and Sandra Zentz. He was a graduate of Park Tudor School and Anderson University.
He was passionate about cooking for family and friends, hosting family celebrations and lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a love for the outdoors and spending time with his dog, Cash.
His happy demeanor and signature humor always made others feel welcome and comfortable. Tony possessed an easy-going spirit, kind heart and gentle soul. His greatest love was reserved for his six children who will no doubt honor him by living their lives to the fullest.
Tony was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Left behind to love and remember him is his beloved mother, Sandra Zentz, sisters, Cameron Zentz, Allison Lersch, Eden Perry, and his children, Ashley Zentz Wassmer, Trey Zentz, Emily Zentz, Noah Zentz, and Cecilia and Cayson Zentz.
The family would like to thank Kandy Zentz, Lauren Hall, and Andi Wichman for the love and support they gave Tony. We are also grateful to countless others who supported Tony and our family through the years, especially the care teams at Community Hospital Anderson and Gentiva Hospice.
A private family service is planned with interment alongside his father at Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to please consider making a donation in Tony’s name to his childhood friend’s organization, Rapha Road (www.Rapharoad.org) which provides a safe place for sober men in addiction recovery to live, while also providing full-time employment.
