Richard T. Curley, age 74, of Mansfield, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Gibbons) Curley, to whom he was wed for forty-seven years.
Born in Brockton, MA on September 18, 1948, he was a loving son of the late James F. and Alice (Flynn) Curley.
Rich grew up in Whitman and was a 1966 graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern University.
A resident of Mansfield for the past forty-seven years, Richard’s family was truly the focal point and greatest gift in his life, especially the love he shared for his grandchildren. He was an active communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. His church involvements included being a former Eucharistic Minister, formerly serving on the Church Finance Committee and teaching CCD. Rich was also a Charter Member and former Exalted Ruler of the Mansfield Lodge of Elks.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Patrick Curley and his wife Sherry of Mansfield, Christopher Curley of Watertown, who was pre-deceased by his wife Jami Curley, Elizabeth Curley of Mansfield and Mary Plumer and her husband Rob of Mansfield. He was the cherished and proud grandfather of Caelin, Patrick, Jayden, Samuel, Cora, Rowan, Colin, Bobby, Jack and Finley. He was the dear brother of Janet Curley of South Easton, Kathleen Kinahan and her husband James of Mansfield, Neil Curley and his wife Irene of Wareham, the late James Curley and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, July 7th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
