Helen L. Gannon
Retired Registered Nurse
TEWKSBURY Helen L. (Dodakin) Gannon, age 90, a longtime Tewksbury community member and current resident of the Carnation Drive Housing community, passed away suddenly in Dracut on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
Born in Boston on February 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Dodakin and the late Marion (McPhee) Dodakin.
Helen was raised in Watertown and graduated from Rosary Academy. Following high school she attended the Milford Hospital School of Nursing.
She resided in South Tewksbury for many years where she raised her six children.
Prior to her retirement, Helen worked as a Registered Nurse at several Boston area Hospitals. In addition, she previously worked part time as a nurse for the Town of Tewksbury.
Helen enjoyed the beach, board games, crafts, baking and spending time with her family.
She was the devoted mother of Thomas Gannon, of Methuen, Daniel Gannon and his wife Amanda, of Gulf Breeze, FL, Clifford Gannon and his wife Melissa, of Lowell, Gerald Gannon and his wife Sherry, of Tewksbury, Pamela Gannon Campbell, of Dracut, and the late Cecile Gannon, who passed away July 1, 2022. Helen leaves her sister, Jean Peabody and her husband Clayton, of Watertown, her niece Cheryl Martino and husband Tony of Watertown. Twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Calling hours are Saturday, July 8th, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury, to be followed by a graveside service at 12 Noon at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury.
