Christine Lane Garceau, 59, died unexpectedly on June 30, 2023 at her home in Fairhaven. She was born August 12, 1963 in Boston, the daughter of William and Shirley McDonald. Chrissie graduated from Cardinal Cushing Central High school. She met her husband, John Garceau, and they recently celebrated 22 years of marriage. She worked as a bartender and waitress for 27 years. Family and friends would describe Chrissie as compassionate, charismatic, resilient, and a “hot ticket”. Chrissie’s pride and joy was her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Maureen Alex and Patricia McDonald; her brothers, Michael and William McDonald; and her first husband, Edward Lane.
She is survived by her husband, John Garceau; sons, Sean Lane of Boston, Ryan Lane and his wife, Brianna, of Weymouth, Brendan Lane and his wife, Claudia, of Brockton; daughters, Kerri Rheaume and her husband, Shane, of St Cloud, Florida, Casey Lane and her partner, Tyler Franklin, of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren, Serenity Lane, Skyla Rheaume, Jayden Rheaume, Shayna Rheaume, Everleigh Rheaume, Alyssa Lane, Kaylee Lane, Ayden Franklin, and Roxanna Lane; one great granddaughter, Annalise Perez Rheaume; two sisters, Linda Zyskowski of Dorchester, Kathleen Downey and her husband, Paul, of North Carolina; many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday July 6 from 10 am to 11:30 am at Casper Funeral Home at 187 Dorchester Street, Boston, MA 02127. A service of remembrance will be held 12 pm at Saint Monica Catholic Church, 331 Old Colony Avenue, South Boston, MA 02127.
