Dolores Ann Ostrander, 91, of Ventura, CA passed away on June 28, 2023, at home with her daughters by her side.
Dolores was born in Elmira, NY to Ruth and Reuben Wells on May 25, 1932. She graduated from Southside High School in NY. Dolores married James Ostrander in May of 1954. She enjoyed music, dancing, bingo, socializing with friends, and travel. She enjoyed learning about history, geography, and it was important to her to be able to remember people's names. Dolores was an avid seamstress while raising her four daughters. She loved her family, all the gatherings, and had a great sense of humor. Dolores loved the Catholic faith, and enjoyed volunteering for the Many Meals ministry at her church.
Dolores is survived by two daughters, Laurie Adams of Camarillo, and Beth (James) Adams of Ventura, as well as her beloved grandchildren Jennifer (Pasqual) Ramirez, Steven Adams, Daniel (Leah) Adams, Tim Adams, Nicole Perry, Stacy (Danny) Adams, Michael Adams, Katie Adams, Morgan (Stephanie) Gilcrest, Lexy (Brandon) Burzynski, and her eleven great-grandchildren Ethan, Adela, Sofia, Leighton, Owen, Lilly, Rozwell, Ima, Karl, Lucia, and Hunter along with many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased in death by her husband James, her daughters Julie Perry and Jamie Grider, her parents, and her sister Alice Kingsley and brother Henry Wells.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 3175 Telegraph Rd, Ventura, CA 93003.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers who kept her comfortable and loved, and made it possible for her to remain in her own home as she wished. Visitation and Rosary will be held at the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. MAIN ST., VENTURA, on Thursday, July 6th from 4pm to 8pm, where a Most Holy Rosary will be receited at 7pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 7th. Mass will begin at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church located at 3175 Telegraph Rd, Ventura, CA with Fr. Beto officiating, followed by a reception at the church hall. Interment will be at Ivy Lawn.
