Francis X. "Frank" McInnis, a 10-year resident of Malden and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at his home in Malden. He was 88 years of age.
Frank was born in Boston on October 9, 1934, a son of the late John P. McInnis and Anna F. (O'Donnell) McInnis. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Boston Technical High School. He furthered his education and received his bachelor's degree from Newbury Junior College. Frank enlisted into the United States Navy on April 28, 1953, and served his country with courage and honor during the Korean Conflict while serving on the U.S.S. Norris and the U.S.S. Stoddard. He was honorably discharged on April 15, 1957, with the rank of Quarter Master Third Class. Frank worked as a Supervisor/Manager for Haemonetics Electronics in Braintree for many years. He was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolboy's Association, Charlestown American Legion Post # 26 and former member of St. Frances De Sales Parish Holy Name Society.
Frank is the beloved husband of the late Muriel C. (Kelley) McInnis. He is the loving son of the late John P. McInnis and Anna F. (O'Donnell) McInnis. He is the devoted father of Diane Miller of New Bedford, Grace DeAngelis and her husband David of Malden, Francis X. McInnis Jr. and his wife Diane of Tewksbury and Jennifer Rothstein and her husband Alan of Worcester. He is the loving Papa to Thomas, Deborah, Daniel, Francis X. III, Michael, Kelly, Gregory, Genevieve the late Francis X. and also his great-grandchildren Francis, April, Layla, Jimmy, Emily and Ellye. He is the beloved brother of Mary Teresa Collins of Wilmington and the late Joseph McInnis, Ann (McInnis) Hayes and John P. McInnis Jr. He is the uncle of Kathleen Griffin and her husband Mike of Wilmington and James Collins of Billerica. He is the brother-in-law of Francis Kelley, James Kelley, Kevin Kelley and the late Walter Kelley. He is also survived by many other loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Frank's Funeral Service on Monday morning, July 3, 2023 at 11 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. His visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. in the funeral home.
