. Michael Eugene Nearing
Passed away unexpectedly at Wedgemere nursing home on June 24, 2023. He was 64 years old. Michael, better known as Mike was the son of the late Robert Nearing and Sylvia (Lynch) Nearing. Born October 16, 1958 in Fairbanks, Alaska he later moved to Hull, Massachusetts with his family. Mike has resided in Taunton for the last 27 years.
Mike enjoyed painting landscapes and found his love for art and painting with Bob Ross in Fairbanks, Alaska. Mike enjoyed playing chess, following the New England Patriots, and playing lottery scratch tickets. He also actively participated in bringing awareness to mental health conditions and has received awards for his advocacy. Mike was well liked, very caring, and quite a jokester.
Mike is survived by his beloved sisters Kathleen (Nearing) Cooke and Mary Nearing, nieces Caitlin Cooke and Marisa Terrio and nephews Patrick Cooke, Matthew Terrio and Steven Terrio.
There will be a Celebration of Life Friday June 30, 2023 at The Stoneforge Public House 90 Paramount Drive, Raynham, MA 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Refreshments will be served.
