Antonia Vasilakos, 71

Antonia (Lambropoulos) Vasilakos, age 71, of Mansfield, passed peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Ilias Vasilakos, to whom she was wed for fifty-four years.
Born in Sparta, Greece on February 2, 1952, she was a loving daughter of the late Kostantinos and Chryssoula (Minakaki) Lambropoulos.
Antonia grew up and was educated in Sparta, Greece. In October of 1969, she moved to the United States and first settled in Jamaica Plain. In 1982, she moved to Mansfield where she has made her home for forty-one years.
Antonia’s life was always centered around her family, whom she loved dearly and was always happiest when surrounded by her treasured grandchildren. She was a dedicated homemaker and had also worked at her brother’s restaurant, the former Fisherman Restaurant in Walpole.
A member of Saint Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church in Mansfield, Antonia enjoyed gardening, vacationing with her family in Greece and a “sweet tooth” for trips to area casinos.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her devoted children: George Vasilakos of Mansfield, Christina Vasilakos of Mansfield and Florida, Dean Vasilokas and his wife Christina Kotsopoulou of Manhattan, New York and Maria Vasilakos and her husband Harry Kamenidis of Mattapoisett. She was the cherished and proud grandmother of Nia, Eli, Fili, Leo, Aria and Ilias. She was dear sister of Nichola Lambropoulos of Cape Coral, Florida, John Lambropoulos of Norton, Billy Lambropoulas of Mansfield and is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, July 10th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, 1007 West Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
Visiting hours are omitted and arrangements are under the care and direction of the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
