Myrna Matias, 69, of Worcester died peacefully Monday, June 26th at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves two sons, Luis Nieves and his wife, Maria of Lowell, Carlos Velez and his wife, Noemy Gonzalez with whom she lived; Maritza Velez and her long-time companion, Carlos of Lowell; five granddaughters, Janilys, Jennifer, Stephanie, Keiralys, and Alishmarie three great granddaughters, Ariella, Alianna, and Daniela; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters.
Myrna was born in Puerto Rico the daughter of the late Antonio Matias and Sara Garcia. She was a devout member of Transformado de Gloria in Brockton. Myrna enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Calling hours are Friday, June 30th from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. with a service to follow in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
