Arthur R. Sullivan, Jr. peacefully passed away on June 23rd, 2023, after a short illness. He was born on December 21st, 1946, to Arthur and Doris Sullivan in Pasadena, CA. Arthur grew up in Greenburgh and graduated from Ossining High School in 1965. He went on to attend Manhattan College, where he majored in Business, and later obtained his MBA from Pace College. Arthur served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as a Systems Analyst. He made his home in Briarcliff Manor with his wife, Karen, and their children until his passing. Karen passed away in 2016. In the last year of his life, Arthur found love again with his girlfriend, Kathy Zamechansky, of the Bronx.
Arthur was known for his kindness, generosity, and quirky sense of humor. He was always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, and strangers alike. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. Arthur had a passion for reading, engaging in conversations with anyone willing to chat, and was a devoted car enthusiast. One of his favorite pastimes was judging car shows, and he even traveled internationally to judge an event recently. He actively supported Veterans and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus – Council 311, as well as a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in Ossining.
Arthur is survived by his children and their spouses: Matthew (Carina) Sullivan of Armonk, Krista (Mark) Kulaga of Hopewell Junction, Alyssa (Dennis) Barbelet of Ossining, Siobhan (Mike Iuliucci) Huggins-Sullivan of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Ryan, Brayden, and Collin Kulaga; Maeve and Cole Sullivan; and Aubrey and William Barbelet. Additionally, he is survived by his brother Steve (Paulette) Sullivan of Key Largo, Florida; nieces Jamie, Sadie, and Amanda Sullivan; much loved nephews Joseph and Octavian Frisenda. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Doris Sullivan; his sister and brother-in-law, Jean Lynn and Joseph Frisenda; and his wife, Karen (nee Kelly) Sullivan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27th, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Pleasant Manor Funeral Home, Inc. - 575 Columbus Avenue, Thornwood, NY. A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28th, 11:00am at St. Augustine's Church – 381 N. Highland Ave, Ossining, NY. In celebration of Art, a procession of classic and sports cars will accompany him to Ferncliff Cemetery.
