Obituary

Bruno V. Scoppa, age 83, of Melrose passed away on Friday, June 23rd. Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Esmerelda (Sacco) Scoppa. Bruno proudly served in the Marine Corps, and was later employed as a courier for a delivery service. He lived in Medford for over 20 years, as well as Stoneham and Malden. Bruno was a proud Yankees fan, and his aquamarine PT Cruiser was his pride and joy. Bruno loved taking trips into the North End on Saturdays with his dog Teddy, who would be greeted by everyone.

Bruno was the beloved husband of over 40 years to Karen (Leone) Scoppa, and the brother of Jordan, John, Bunny Kristensen and her husband Paul, and the late Silvio Scoppa and his surviving wife Jane. He was the brother-in-law of Stephen Leone and his wife Debra, Jackie Leone and his wife Joy, and Guy Leone and his wife Kim. Bruno was the uncle of Nicholas, Gino, Joseph and Vincent Leone, uncle and God-Father of Lisa Hopper, and uncle of Amy Leone, Mandy Goldman, Gina, Guy Robert Jr., Michael and Anthony Leone. He was the owner of beloved dogs Mitzi, Teddy and Lola, and is survived by many loving relatives and friends.

Bruno’s funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, June 30th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Stoneham, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family on Thursday, June 29th from 4 through 8 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home.
