Richard Graiko, Sr., 69, of Providence, died Sunday, June 18th, 2023 at Overlook Nursing Home in Burrillville.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Olga Graiko. He served in the US Army from 1974-1977. He was a dedicated athlete, having played on the JV basketball team in Ponagansett as well as running cross country. He was an avid runner. Richard trained for and ran in the Boston Marathon. Richard had made his home in Providence, residing there for over twenty years. He previously lived in Glocester. He had worked as a laborer with the FAF in Smithfield for many years before retiring.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Graiko, and his sister, Joyce Sullivan, as well as his many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Richard “Ricky” Graiko, Jr.
A graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, June 26 at 12:00 PM at Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet.
