Rose Marie Voelker-Anderson passed away at home on Sunday morning, June 11, 2023. She had suffered from several illnesses in recent years and is now at peace and rejoicing with our Lord.
Rose Marie was born on July 28, 1933 in New York City, New York. Her parents, Alois and Rosa Melzl, were immigrants from Germany who taught Rose Marie and her brother Albert the value of family and faith. Rose Marie graduated from nursing college in New York and then came to California to pursue her career in nursing. She worked in that field for almost 30 years.
Rose Marie had an infectious laugh and a generous heart to help others in need. She assisted many people in her large circle of friends and family, especially with financial support for their educational needs. RoseMarie was known for her loaves of homemade bread which she lovingly made for her many friends. She was active in her church and always available to support both people and projects.
Rose Marie is survived by her sons Gerald Voelker and Terrence Anderson and daughter Sondra Vaughan, grandson Christopher (Helen) Vaughan, eleven greatgrandchildren and thirty-one great-greatgrandchildren. Her friends are too numerous to count. She will be loved and missed by all.
There will be a small graveside service at Ivy Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday, June 28, at 2 pm.
