CHICOPEE - Lina M. (Ouellette) Douville, 89, a longtime resident of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born at home in Salem on Tuesday, January 2, 1934, a beloved daughter of the late Josephat and Marianna (Labbie) Ouellette. She was raised and educated in Lynn and Salem, MA and had moved to Willimansett during her teenage years with her family where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed at A.G. Spalding in Chicopee and later was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Douville’s Welding Service in Holyoke. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and children and was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett. During her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Donald R. “Don” Douville who was Called Home on January 21, 2011. They were married on September 8, 1951 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 54 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving children, Joanne M. Satkowski and her husband, Joseph, of Hadley, Michael D. Douville and his wife, Mary, of South Hadley and Brian D. Douville and his wife, Deborah, of Longmeadow; her six cherished grandchildren, Jennifer M. Cutler and her husband, Erik, of Sterling, Justin H. Satkowski and his wife, Katharyn, of Belchertown, Kara M. Douville and her partner, Angel Rosario, of Indian Orchard, Samantha M. Douville of Easthampton and Andrew and Aidan Douville, both of Longmeadow; her six cherished great grandchildren, Rylie, Kora and Layla Cutler, Emerson Satkowski, Nicholas Vallerie and Xzavies Rosario; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended members of the Douville and Ouellette families and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her cherished grandson, Timothy M. Francis who was Called Home on April 6, 2003; and her eight dear brothers and sisters. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 5 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at Precious Blood Cemetery in South Hadley.
