Comfort Mensah, 72, of Worcester died on Wednesday, May 31st at Christopher House surrounded by her family. She leaves her daughter, Benedicta Boateng and her husband, Richard Kewku-Boateng of Worcester; a son, Samuel Baiden-Amissah and his wife of Winneba, Ghana; a brother, Kwesi Mensah of Winneba, Ghana; a sister, Vida Mensah of Winneba, Ghana; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Bruce Baiden-Amissah; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
She was born in Winneba, Ghana the daughter of Kwesi Odebi and Mary Amissah and immigrated to the United States in 2012. Comfort received her bachelor’s degree and then pursued a career as a teacher and principal of a school in Ghana for many years. She enjoyed singing, spending time with family, and taking care of others.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1st at 9:00 a.m. at O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Entombment will follow in St. John’s Mausoleum, 260 Cambridge Street. Her calling hours will be held on Friday, June 30th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. inside the funeral home.
