Michael A. Missick, of North Reading, formerly of Medford, passed suddenly on June 18th, 2023 at the age of 65. He was the beloved son of the late Peter L. and Christine Missick. Loving brother of Rosemary Missick of Medford and the late Peter A. Missick of Lake Orion, Michigan. Michael is also survived by his sister-in-law Debbie Missick and Nephews Peter A. Jr. and Christopher Missick of Michigan and many cousins, relatives and friends. Michael lived a long and full life. Growing up in Medford, he attended Special Education Classes. He also made his First Communion and Confirmation at Immaculate Conception Parish in Malden. Mike was involved in all family activities and went everywhere with his mom and dad. He especially loved Summer vacations at “Uncle Allen’s Farm” in Nova Scotia with his many cousins and family. Michael loved to meet people and always had a handshake and a smile for them. For the past 22 years Mike lived in North Reading at a group home run by the May Institute. He continued to live a full life. He attended “Class” and enjoyed going to various gatherings, events and weekends in North Conway with his housemates. He enjoyed going out with his sister, especially if it involved going for ice cream. He loved to go for ice cream. Michael adored his friend "Patty". He loved spending holidays with his sister and Pat’s family. As he got older, Alzheimer’s slowly stole his abilities and he lost his eyesight. But thanks to the loving care of all the staff at the North Reading House he remained healthy and well cared for. As Mike would say “BE HAPPY”.
Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday June 30th at 11 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday from 10-11 AM.
