Andre J. Darisse, 83 of Ipswich, Passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 following a long illness.
He was the devoted husband of the late Barbara Ann (Saltzman) Darisse, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph M. and Jeannette A. (Motard) Darisse. He graduated from Essex Agricultural School as an arborist and worked briefly for the former Davey Tree. During those early years Andre was also a member of the Army Reserves. Most of Andy’s career was working in commercial construction for the Gourdeau Construction Company of Hamilton. In his spare time, Andy enjoyed doing household projects at home and for relatives and friends.
Devoted to his wife and family, Andre enjoyed time spent with them as well as his large extended family and many friends. He was also an avid fan of all the professional Boston sports teams.
Andre is survived by his sons; Thomas A. Darisse and wife Hazel of Virginia, Michael J. Darisse and wife Carolyn of Ipswich, and Matthew M. Darisse and wife Lisa of North Carolina, as well as six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joshua and wife Lindsey, Michael, Benjamin, Hunter & Schuyler and great granddaughters, Bella & Lila. He also leaves his siblings; Sister Claudette Darisse, SASV of Marlboro, Marie Therese Walters and husband William of Salem, Paul G. Darisse and wife Myrtle of Beverly, Marc M. Darisse and wife Carmen of Salem, Elaine Pelletier of Colorado, Michelle Girard of Salem and partner Robert Tache, Joseph L. “Jody” Darisse and wife Brenda of Topsfield and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, the infant Jeannine, Guy Darisse, Thomas Darisse and wife Linda and brothers-in-law, Richard Pelletier and George Girard.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Graveside service in St. Mary Cemetery, 226 North St., Salem on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
