Kristaq Dhima, 79, of Worcester died Sunday, June 18th at UMass Memorial Hospital – University Campus. He leaves his wife of 53 years, Vangjeli (Kulari) Dhima; a daughter, Etleva Bardhi and her husband, Roland of Auburn; a son, Arti Dhima and his wife, Sonila of Albania; four grandchildren, Roela Bardhi and her fiancé, Enea Jorgji, Melani Bardhi, Brixhilda Dhima, and Kristjan Dhima; five brothers; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Fier, Albania the son of Gori Dhima and Urani Peto. Upon graduating from mechanical school, Kristaq served in the army, and then worked as a mechanic until he retired. Kristaq loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, whom he treasured dearly. Growing up, he loved to practice shooting competitively.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 24th beginning at 11:00 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street. His calling hours will be held on Friday, June 23rd from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
