Jackson P. Despres, 74, of Williams Road in Smithfield, passed away on Thursday June 8th surrounded by his family.
Born in Providence, a son of the late John P. “Jack” and Olga (Zachadnyk) Despres. Jackson had graduated from Moses Brown School in Providence, RI, class of 1966 and had graduated from Roanoke College, Salem, VA, class of 1970.
Jackson was the owner of Smithfield Peat Company, Inc., and affiliated development companies. Prior to his passing, Jackson wished to express his profound gratitude to his dedicated staff.
Jackson is survived by his wife and soulmate, Nanci, his daughter Whitney Clavet and her husband, Darin of Greenville and his daughter Elizabeth Czerwein of Clayville. He was the grandfather of Logan, Reed, Mallory, Gwendolyn, Peyton and Remington.
