Marie T. Ogar, from Stoughton, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, June 19, 2023 after a short battle with brain cancer.
Daughter of Sarah Murphy and Robert Ogar married to Louise, Marie was born on February 23, 1962 in Quincy and lived most of her younger years in Stoughton. As a child Marie enjoyed her summers in Maine. Marie graduated from Stoughton High School in 1980 and attended The School of Nursing of New England Baptist Hospital where she graduated with a Nursing Degree in 1983.
Marie’s first Nursing job was at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Dorchester where she trained to be a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse. Marie passionately pursued a career as a NICU Nurse for over 30 years working at various hospitals throughout Boston including St. Margarets, St. Elizabeth’s, and Mass Eye and Ear. Marie loved her work as a nurse taking care of premature born babies and their families. In her later years, Marie worked part time as a home care nurse.
Marie raised her three children, Allison, Stephen, and Brianna whom she adored in Mansfield where she lived for over 20 years. Marie was a caring, devoted mother who loved spending time with her daughters at horse shows and many a night at a hockey rink with Stephen. She also enjoyed family time at the house, always hosting family holidays and pool parties. She loved the annual family trip to Newport with the kids and going to the beach.
Marie was an animal lover and always had at least 2 dogs around and maybe the occasional rabbit, gerbil, bird, turtle, or cat when the kids were younger. She had a love for horses and owned multiple show horses throughout her life. Her favorite dogs were the Shetland sheepdogs from her first little Charlie to Lacey and Brody.
Marie leaves behind her three children, Allison Clemmey Stackpole and her husband Christopher of Cumberland, RI, Stephen R. Clemmey, and Brianna E. Clemmey and her partner James Eastman of Mansfield. Marie also leaves behind her fiancé Stephen Oranellas. Marie also leaves behind her sister Carrie and husband Steve Olson, her sister Diane and her husband Jerry Galizio, her brother Francis Ogar, and her brother Kevin and his wife Kathleen Ogar. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Marie is predeceased by her sister-in-law Judi LeVasseur Ogar, her father Robert Ogar and his wife Louise, and her mother Sarah Murphy.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29th at 10:00 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) in Mansfield. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sherman and Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield on Wednesday, June 28th from 5 pm to 7 pm.
