Roscoe M. Stottlemyer
November 15, 1947- June 19, 2023
Roscoe Michael “Rock” Stottlemyer, 75, of Anderson passed away on June 19, 2023, at Community Hospital in Anderson following a three-month illness.
He was born on November 15, 1947, in Anderson to the late Roscoe H. and Kathryn (Hosier) Stottlemyer. He was a 1967 graduate of Madison Heights High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed with Delco Remy division of General Motors as a die setter and truck driver and retired in 2018 from the General Motors Marion Stamping Plant after 44.3 years.
He was a jokester and never met a stranger. He rebuilt his dad’s 1931 Farmall Regular tractor and enjoyed that he could take it to parades and tractor pulls. He still has his first car, a 1971 Chevelle. He was a fan of the 1950’s western TV series. He enjoyed boating and snowmobiling.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carmen (Gonzalez) Stottlemyer of Anderson; a sister, Ruth (David) Dyehouse of Frankton; his 96-year-old mother-in-law, Franscisca Zayaz of Texas; two step-children, Juan J. Rangel of Texas and Belinda J. (Dana) Wilson of Fort Wayne; four step- grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren; six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; two nieces, Melissa (Asher) Dyehouse-Lucas, Rachel (Matt) Brunsman and many other nieces and nephews; special cousin, Larry (Dorothy) Stottlemyer of Anderson and many other cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe H. Stottlemyer in 1985 and Kathryn (Hosier) Stottlemyer in 2014.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Randy Holland officiating. A burial will follow in K. of P. I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton, IN.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m.- 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
