Eugenia T. (Silveira) Da Silva, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at D’Youville Senior Health Care Center in Lowell. She was 94 years old. Eugenia was the cherished widow of the late Rogerio Da Silva, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship.
Born on April 11, 1929, in Faial, Azores, Portugal, Eugenia was the daughter of the late James Luis and the late Maria Alice (Silva) Luis. She spent her early years in the Azores, where she received her education and formed the strong foundation of her character. In 1962, Eugenia embarked on a new chapter of her life, moving to the United States with her family and settling in Lowell's Back Central Neighborhood.
Eugenia was a woman of faith and a devout communicant of St. Anthony's Church. She also found joy and community as a member of the Holy Ghost Society. Throughout her life, Eugenia exemplified a strong work ethic and dedication. She spent many years working at Commodore Foods before joining Wang Laboratories, where she remained until her retirement.
When Eugenia wasn't focused on her professional endeavors, she found solace in her hobbies and passions. One of her greatest joys was returning to her homeland in the Azores, particularly the islands of Pico and Faial. She cherished the time spent there, surrounded by the familiar sights, sounds, and loved ones. Eugenia had a knack for crocheting and poured her heart into creating beautiful blankets and other items for her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Eugenia will be deeply missed by her loving sons, Roger DaSilva and his wife, Maria, of Lowell, and Roderick 'Fernando' DaSilva and his wife, Salete, of Tewksbury. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her several grandchildren, including Michael DaSilva and his wife, Joanne, Steve DaSilva, Christopher DaSilva, Cassandra DaSilva and her husband, Johnny Arteaga, and Thomas Da Silva, as well as her great-grandchildren, Madison, Leah, Jameson, Elias, and Emilio. Eugenia is also survived by her brother, Jaime Luis, and his wife, Lucinda, of Tewksbury.
She was predeacesed by her son John DaSilva as well as her step-sons, Luis G. Da Silva and Lugerio G. Da Silva, and her siblings, Manuel Luis, Jose Luis, Maria Mello, Isabel Neves, Julieta Gameiro, and Zeta Duarte.

Her Funeral Mass will be offered following the calling hours at ST. ANTHONY’S CHURCH, 893 Central Street, Lowell at 11 a.m.. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.
