Worcester—Edward Zarmanian, 81, formerly of Woburn, died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at UMass Memorial Hospital. He was born in Worcester, son of Armenag and Arshaloos (Tashjian) Zarmanian. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and was a Radar Operator for the Third Fleet Operation in Okinawa. Edward owned the Ali Baba Restaurant in Worcester. He was also manager of the Holiday Inn of Falmouth and the Surrey Room of the 1200 Beacon Street Hotel in Boston. He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour and the AA Civic Club. He is survived by several cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 19, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., with an 11 a.m. service at Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St, Worcester MA 01609. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Armenian Church of Our Saviour.
