Donald W. Ordway, age 69, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, June 17, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Linda J. (O’Kelly) Ordway.
Born in Quincy, MA on December 26, 1953, he was a loving son of the late Walter H., Jr. and Catherine G. (McLaughlin) Ordway.
Don grew up in Quincy and was 1973 graduate of North Quincy High School. He continued his education, receiving an associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy. He had made his home in Mansfield for the past thirty years and prior to retiring, had been employed for over eight years as a Respiratory Therapist at Cape Medical Supply in Sandwich.
Don loved spending time with his adoring family, which included times spent at Mayflower Beach in Dennis and snowmobiling and skiing in Maine. He was a communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield and while living in Quincy, was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.
Don had a special love for the outdoors, gardening, cooking, woodworking and drawing. He also enjoyed music and when younger was a talented guitarist and drummer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted sons: Kevin J. Ordway of Mansfield and Chris P. Ordway and his fiancé Meghan Hayward of Taunton. He was the cherished grandfather of Liam J. Ordway of Taunton. He was the dear brother of Carol M. Ordway of Wollaston and is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, June 23rd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North main Street, Mansfield.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 24th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.
