CHICOPEE – John F. “Jack” McGuire, 81, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, June 16, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at Heritage Hall South in Agawam surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on July 7, 1941, a beloved son of the late James R. and Ruth B. (Jurgensen) McGuire. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee High School and was a lifelong resident of the city. He served his country in the United States Navy and attained the rank of Seaman. Jack was employed with the Holyoke Gas and Electric Company and retired in 1999. He was a member of the Moose Family Center in Chicopee. When he was younger, he enjoyed model building, drawing, and painting beautiful artwork. Above all, he was a dedicated family man who was always there to give anyone a helping hand. He was a communicant of the former Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee Falls.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend, Jean M. “Jeannie” (Borowiec) McGuire. They were married on October 10, 1986 at the former Saint Patrick Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 27 years of happiness together. He leaves his three loving daughters, Maureen K. Penna and her husband, Michael, of Hampden, Karyn B. Ardizoni and her husband, Richard, of Enfield, CT, and Kristin M. Tully and her partner, Donald “Shack” Whitney, of York, ME; his seven cherished grandchildren, Sarah Penna and her partner, Julian Calv, Samantha Combs and her husband, Jason Labbe, Hannah Combs and her partner, Dan Fiorenzano, Logan Tully and her partner, Andrew Ricciardelli, Conor Tully and his partner, Gabriela Gomes, Riley Tully and her fiancé, Tanner Munizich, and Megan Tully; his dear sister, Barbara A. Pajak of Chicopee; his dear sister in law, Alice M. McGuire of South Hadley; his dear brothers in law, Chester “Sam” Borowiec of Windsor, CT, and David Borowiec of Agawam; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends including his special friend, Chrissie Pedolzky and extended family members. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his dear brother, James R. “Skip” McGuire who was Called Home on January 10, 2005; and his dear brother in law, Robert L. “Bob” Pajak who was Called Home on July 4, 2022. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.). His Burial with United States Navy Military Honors will follow the Service at Saint Patrick Cemetery, 168 Fuller Road, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
